In a tribute published in the Contra Costa Times, December 19, 2022, her children wrote: “Our mom was an amazing woman raising 2 daughters after being widowed at 36, went back to school for her masters, taught at Mt Diablo high school and DVC. She was a pioneer who loved traveling, her friends and family, even when health made it hard to get together.
At 96, we are so happy she did not lose a bit of memory or her wit, enjoying political debates to her last days. Mom can now join papa, who died in 1963. She will be loved and deeply missed by her two daughters, son-in-law, and two nieces with their families.
A private family burial will be held at Oakmont Memorial Park on Dec 21; in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in mom’s name to ARF in Walnut Creek.”
