I am forwarding this email sent to me by Marta Gillen, Sr. Executive Assistant to the President at DVC.Doug will be missed by the DVC community, especially those who connected with him on a regular basis. We were all beneficiaries of his efforts to support his colleagues and students.

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Doug Dildine last week, an adjunct professor in the Drama department for over 20 years. The following was shared from Doug’s department:

Doug was an award-winning Bay Area director, with a brilliant mind and a passion for the craft he so loved. Doug taught Drama at DVC since the 1990’s, served as the Adjunct Rep on Academic Senate, and served as the Adjunct Union rep for over a decade. He was an extraordinary contributor to the college, and a devoted member of the Drama department.

With all of his amazing accomplishments, Doug’s first love was always teaching and his students, many of whom are working in professional stage and film, and credit Doug for his wisdom and guidance. Doug’s Drama colleagues and his students will miss his kindness, his intellect, and his artistry.

At the present time, there are no services or memorial scheduled.
