Memorial notice – Dispatcher (ret) Rhonda Mims
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our friend and family member, Rhonda Mims. Rhonda passed away suddenly on Friday, September 14. She was hired by the District on October 30, 2000 and retired earlier this year from the position of Police Services Dispatcher, assigned to DVC.
Our loss of Rhonda is difficult, however she lives on in a special place in our hearts. Rhonda spent the better part of the last decade bravely battling kidney disease and she will be remembered as someone who put the interests of her coworkers and the community before her own, regardless of her personal health.
Rhonda had a true connection to the Contra Costa Community College District. Her father, Dr. Leroy Mims, was formerly a Dean at CCC, while her sister, Rhonelle, also previously worked for the Child Care Center at DVC.
