We are deeply saddened to report the passing of DVC employee Debra Fowler. Debra was employed with the college for 24 years. She was an Early Childhood Education Specialist. Over her years at the Children’s Center, she worked with children aged 5 months to 5 years. As an ECE Specialist her role was to implement and supervise a developmental curriculum for preschool children in the DVC Early Childhood Education Laboratory; to provide learning opportunities and mentoring to Early Childhood Education students in the ECE Department; and to discuss activities and development of children with their parents.
Debra began her education at DVC – she completed her undergraduate work at DVC starting in 1984, completing an Associate of Liberal Arts Degree, then she transferred to Cal State East Bay where she obtained her BA in Human Development.
Her family has shared that there will be a memorial for Debbie at Mt Diablo State Park, Juniper Campgrounds tomorrow Friday May 17th at 1:00 PM.
